On Monday June 16 2025 beginning at 11:59 PM, NE Fiber will perform scheduled maintenance to repair mainline transport fiber damaged by the recent storms. During the splicing and repair, subscribers served out of the Brittany Woods, Lafayette Springs and Algoma Substations will be impacted as fibers are spliced.

Wed Apr 1 2024 // 8:45am: Repairs in Progress

Crews have prepped the cable and hung new 96ct fiber in the damaged area. Splicing prep has begun and two new splice points will need to be introduced in order to complete the repair. Subscribers will come up in groups as the fibers are spliced. There is no ETR at this time.

Wed Apr 1 2024 // 7:21am: Investigating

NESPARC located a mainline 96ct fiber cut on HWY 334. Crews are prepping for repair and awaiting the arrival of law enforcement to file a report. No ETR at this time.

Wed Apr 1 2024 // 4:00am: Investigating

NESPARC is aware of a large disruption affecting many subscribers on our Lafayette Springs 234 circuit, that services lots of the area south of HWY 6. We are seeing disruptions across this circuit in the areas of HWY 334 all the way to Paris MS near Hwy 9w. Engineers are working to isloate the issue, and we will post more info here when available.

On Wednesday November 07 2023, beginning at 8:00AM NESPARC will perform maintenance to repair a damaged 144ct mainline cable in the Lafayette Springs 214 Circuit.

This will affect the following areas (not all-inclusive): Please see the included map for a better representation of affected areas.

CR 251 / Lafayette Springs Road (north of Hwy 336)
Hwy 336 between Lafayette Springs Rd and Hurricane Rd
Benjamin Rd from CR 251 to Esperanza Rd

The maintenance and repair is expected to take 2-3 hours to complete. Services will be impacted during this time, but are not expected to be down the entire time.

Repairs continue. Due to complications, some brief interruptions on CR 251 North of Benjamin Rd. are necessary. Crews need to perform construction and splicing that will affect these subscribers.. Downtime is estiamted to be approx. 30 mins to one hour.

Crews located the issue earlier this afternoon and have been working multiple issues to attempt repair. There are complications and we need to wait for daylight to complete repairs. We expect to have repairs completed shortly after dawn in the morning. We are sorry for this inconvenience.

FIBER DAMAGE: Lafayette Springs Substation (244)

We are aware of some mainline fiber damage near 6 and 6 junction, in the area of Dusty Trail. A log truck damaged power lines and fiber lines crossing the highway. Customers downstream from this area are experiencing disruptions. Crews are on-site and working to repair the damage as quickly as possible.

Issue in Lafayette Springs : Mitigation In Progress

Around 3:45 pm today a subset of customers serviced from Lafayette Springs Substation began experiencing an issue with acquiring IP addresses. After investigation, the card servicing those customers will need to be restarted. This could impact customers for approx 10 minutes. this will prevent other customers on this card from experiencing this issue. Thank you for your patience.

Hardware is back online and impacted services have been restored.

After further investigation, engineers have determined there is a possible hardware issue in the substation. We will reboot a card in one of the shelves shortly to address the issue.

Subscribers may need to power cycle their equipment once the card comes back online. Rebooting should take less than 5 minutes.

We are seeing a higher than usual number of calls from the Thaxton, CR 251, Lafayette Springs area indicating there may be an isolated issue in that area.
