On Tuesday November 18 beginning at 11:59PM, NE Fiber will perform scheduled maintenance on the OX224 circuit to move mainline required by MDOT for HWY 7 South construction. The work will require a main feed to be re-spliced at the intersection of Hwy 7 and CR 401 (South Lamar Blvd). All subscribers south of that intersection on the OX224 circuit will be affected. We expect the work to take approx 4 hours. See below map for the areas affected. This maintenance will affect both voice and internet services provided by NE SPARC in the designated areas.

Tuesday November 07:30am : Maintenance

On Tuesday November 4 2025, beginning at 07:30am, crews will be working to move mainline cables required for MDOT highway work at the Hwy 7 / Hwy 9 split. This will affect subscribers near the 7/split and south down Hwy 9w / as well as east of Hwy 9w. Crews will be splicing in new cables along Hwy 7 to allow for MDOT to complete road work. The interruption is expected last 3-4 hours.

On Tuesday May 6 2025 beginning at 11:59 PM, NE Fiber will perform scheduled maintenance on the Oxford 224 Circuit in order to move mainline fiber as required by MDOT construction on Hwy 7 South. The maintenance will affect all subscribers south of Industrial Park Drive / Why 7 South. Prep work has been done, and the maintenance event will allow for splicing in of the new mainline cable between Industrial Park Drive and Veterans Drive. The maintenance could take the entire maintenance window, until 6am Wednesday May 7.

NE Fiber located a cut mainline fiber near the intersection of Belk Blvd and Hwy 7 south. The fiber was damaged by installation of water mains. Crews are on-site splicing in new fiber to replace the damaged section. All subscribers south of that intersection, serviced by Oxford Substation are affected. This area extends to the 7/9 Split and includes areas of South Lamar Blvd, Pea Ridge Road, and surrounding areas. We do not have an exact ETR at this time but crews are working speedily to resolve the outage.

Teams have identifed the damaged mainline fiber and are working to restore services as quickly as possible. Some additional customers may experience brief (less than 30 seconds) interruptions as we test other fibers in the cable.

We are currently seeing alarms for roughly 70 customers in the Cross Creek, Yocona Ridge, and surrounding areas. Crews are investigating currently to locate the issue.

PLANNED MAINTENANCE: Taylor // Oxford Substations

At midnight on Wednesday May 4, 2022, engineers will begin planned maintenance on Oxford and Taylor substations and will be upgrading software on electronics in the backbone. There will be brief (less than 15 mins) outages as the hardware is restarted after the software update. Maintenance should be complete by 05/05/22 02:00:00 am
If you are serviced out of one of these substations, and your service is not operational on Thursday morning, please start with power cycling / rebooting your equipment, and if that does not resolve the issue, reach out to our Helpdesk.
